What is Cupping Therapy?
- It’s Myofascial decompression, also known as Dry Cupping or Air Cupping therapy
- Originally a traditional Chinese therapy, that has been modified by western medicine for use in Sports Medicine.
- Very popular among professional and Olympic athletes as part of their maintenance recovery programs.
How Does Cupping Work?
- Placing the cups on the body increases blood flow to the injured area.
- The negative pressure from the cups lifts the fascia to stretch it, thus allowing for lymphatic drainage of toxins.
- Draws toxins from the deeper tissue to aid in healing.
- Helps restore normal tissue movement, which eliminates the pain caused by the restricted soft tissue.
- Cupping can result in deep red circles where the cups were placed, indicating that toxins and other cellular debris have moved from deeper tissue layers to the surface.
- Circles could last for up to a week or more, and are not painful.
Who Can Benefit From Cupping Therapy?
- Air Cupping therapy can help any patient with mechanical pain, not just athletes.
- It works really well myofascial strains and soft tissue restrictions unrelated to acute injury.
We Often Use Cupping Therapy To Provide Faster Recover For:
- Chronic back pain
- Fibromyalgia
